Klaus Schwab, in his book Shaping the Future of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, says that future technology will “intrude into the hitherto private space of our minds, reading our thoughts and influencing our behavior.”

According to Schwab, law enforcement agencies and courts will be able to use these techniques “to determine the likelihood of criminal activity, assess guilt or even possibly retrieve memories directly from people’s brains.”

With our thoughts monitored by the authorities, rebellion against the ruling regime will become impossible. It could be easily crushed before any individual takes the first step to organize a resistance. Corporations already watch and listen to us through our phones and send us targeted advertisements. But in the future, the global technocrats, through some highly-centralized supercomputer, will be able to access the collective thoughts of mankind, thereby acquiring the godlike power to predict and control the future.
